Research proves that children learn best through play. We listen to the experts and put the kids to work! Whether it's in the mud kitchen, sand box, pebble pit, classroom centers, or hopscotching down the hall, Castle students' job is to play. Our indoor and outdoor Certified Nature Explore Classroom provide students with endless opportunities to learn and play.

We believe that early exposure to enriching experiences support a child's physical, social, mental, and emotional development. At The Castle, art, language (Spanish), music, culture, yoga/mindfulness are embedded within the school day, providing students with a foundation to continue to explore their interests and appreciate the world around them.

The Castle Preschool serves children ages 2-6 across three programs: our Two Cool classrooms for all children who turn 2 by September 1st, Preschool (3-5 year olds), and Summer Nature Explorer Camp (ages 3-6).

Two Cool at the Castle is a happy, bustling place to be! Our youngest students spend the day engaging in imaginative play, creating art while developing fine motor skills, growing stronger while engaging in gross motor activities, and building friendships, all in the care of warm, patient teachers who love what they do.

Summer Nature Explorer Camp
Preschool: 3-5 Year Olds
Our full-day preschool classrooms use the research- and play-based curriculum Tools of the Mind. In "Tools" classrooms, students create "play plans" to practice their writing, planning, and self-regulation skills. Then, they engage in authentic play, creating "scenes" out of common materials, cultivating creativity, ingenuity, and imagination.

Summer Nature Explorer Camp
Water Wednesday, Bike Friday, and daily exploration and nature play! Outside, students choose between our Water Center, Mud Kitchen, Castle Play Structure, Sand and Pebble Area, Construction Zone, Pollinator Garden, Vegetable Garden, Forest, Music Wall, Library, Ball Zone and an open area with big trunks and stumps to balance or jump and room to move.
